Little Voice

Lauren is growing more and more independent. Just recently she started voicing out what she wants. Usually on weekends, when Lauren wakes up we bring her to our bed so Sheila and I can get a little more sleep (what used to be sleeping in before we had Lauren). Anyway, after about 10 to 15 minutes in bed with Lauren tossing and turning trying to get us to wake up we usually ask her if she wants to eat breakfast. She usually didn't answer but willingly went downstairs to the kitchen to eat. Now, she tells us "eat!" before we even ask her! And when we get to the kitchen, she points and asks for her Lucky Charms cereal. For dinner she will ask for "rice". Yes, she actually says "rice". She loves fried rice.

Snow

Well ya know how I said Lauren didn't like the snow too much? Well, I was wrong. Yesterday, we were in the house and getting ready to go out to the mall. We had Lauren all dressed up and ready to go and as we were leaving, she stopped at the door and looked down at her snow boots. She immediately said "boots!" and kept saying it. We just said to Lauren, "Yes, those are your boots." But she kept saying it and started to get irritated with us. So we figured she wanted to put them on. So we take off the shoes we just put on her and put on her snow boots. We walk in the garage and as soon as we opened the garage door, she started pulling us outside. She wanted to play in the snow! So after she stomps around in the huge pile of snow she picks some up in her hand and just stares at it. She held on to it for what seemed like an eternity. We turned around for one second and the next thing we know, the snow that was in her hand was gone and saw that she put it in her mouth and ate it! I told her not to eat the snow from the ground. So what does she do? She scrapes some snow off of her boots and quickly eats it before I could get to it! She had a big grin from ear to ear.
