Valentine's Weekend

For Valentine's Day, we went home to Virginia Beach to visit the grandparents. Lauren had a great deal of fun witht them. She remembered them right away. Before we left there was a whole lot of talk about a big snowstorm heading our way. I didn't really believe those forecasts too much because they have been wrong so many times before. We got to Virginia Beach okay. It really only rained while we were there. BUT, on the way back, it went from rain, sleet, then snow. It was nice driving near Virginia Beach because no one was on the road (I think everyone was scared to drive because of the icy forecasts), but the further north we got (around Richmond) the snow got thicker and thicker. Once we were around Fredericksburg, VA it was basically just one lane open (one lane where you could actually see the pavement - or part of it anyway). We got back in pretty good time. When we got to our neighborhood, the snow was piled high. I couldn't get the van in the driveway because there was at least a foot of snow! So I get out and shovel away a path just wide enough for the van to go through. I tell you what, I'm not looking forward to shoveling snow again tomorrow morning!
